Worker Details

Mat and Shannon Anderson and their four children Beth, Peter, Caleb and Samuel serve in Outback Australia. Mat has a theological degree and a background in the social services sector. Shannon completed a Bible degree in the United States before moving to Australia.

During their first term Mat and Shannon’s main focus is building relationships, learning language and culture and building a strong foundation for the future of ministry in the Outback. Mat is involved in regular church support work, helping the leaders of Yuendumu Baptist Church in various ways. Shannon’s primary occupation is looking after their four young kids. She is homeschooling the oldest two and wrangling their two year-old twins! Beth and Peter both attend the local school part-time for social growth and language learning opportunities.

Their hope is to see deepening relationships and cultural understanding this term. Additionally, they pray that the Lord will continue to give them learning opportunities and abilities. Mat and Shannon want to thank everyone who partners with the ministry in remote Australia!
