Project Details

SGA exists to bring Biblical truth to the people of the former Soviet Union. Since the fall of communism, many churches have been planted but there are still many places without a Christian witness.

In Russia, Central Asia and Ukraine, missionary-pastors are visiting towns and villages to conduct evangelistic outreaches. Sometimes this is by open-air meetings in the street, and other times it is through children's holiday programs. Small groups of believers form and develop into small fellowships.

As these fellowships grow, and more people are baptised, a travelling pastor might recommend one of their members for ministry and send them to a Bible college. SGA helps by subsidising the cost of tuition. As things progress, other needs such as building materials, a vehicle and ongoing pastoral sponsorship are decided on a case-by-case basis in consultation with regional church leadership.

New churches can form a base for new ministries into orphanages, schools, prisons, drug rehab-centres, villages and more! In this way, SGA carries out its mission to bring the Gospel to people living in the former Soviet Union. With God's help, countless churches have been planted so far, and we hope this will continue even as religious freedom seems to be closing down.
