Noel & Catharine Carpenter

Worker Details

Born and raised in Christian, mission-minded families, Noel and Catharine knew Jesus as Lord and Saviour at a young age. Having met through the local Christian university group in Hobart, Tasmania, they married in 2001 and have been blessed with daughter Aisha (2005) and sons Mark (2007) and Luke (2014).

Having spent most of their years as a couple training for, or in cross-cultural mission work in Australia, the Middle East and the Pacific, they returned to Arnhem Land in January 2018. They remain members of Wycliffe Australia, but are seconded to work with Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAF) and serve with MAF as a pilot family in Arnhem Land. Noel's primary role is flying and filling a Check and Training pilot role, and Catharine supports the work of Bible Translation in Aboriginal languages. These roles give us opportunities to share God’s love through aviation, technology and literature for the purpose of seeing Yolngu people being physically and spiritually transformed in the name of Jesus Christ.
